Attorney Marketing – 5 Tips to Easily add Quality Content to Your Site
Actually, this post should be called – 20 Content-Building Tips, but I don’t have time to post all 20 now and I didn’t want to mislead here. However, over the next few days, we’ll post over 20 Tips, but here is the first Five!
When Marketing For Law Firms, you need to focus on Content. Google Loves Content!! – - And they love Fresh Content. The problem is that it can take a long time to produce this content & can be very frustrating for you or your staff. Often our writing & re-writing to strive for perfection leads to nothing getting put on the page, and you’re back to where you started – but with valuable hours lost.
Here we will show you how to easily grow the content on your pages, which will lead to higher rankings on Google, and perhaps even into more clients who appreciate the information you are providing. And you probably have this content already created at your fingertips!!
Stay with me here — We’re going to think a little outside the box, but your site will benefit from it. Lets start thinking creatively now.
So for this exercise, we need to start looking at our site in a different way than we are used to. Lets focus on some new elements / concepts from this point forward:
- Your site content should be written for your clients – not you!
- The search engines are not your target audience. (Don’t get me wrong, they are important, but my point is that you don’t want to write just for them. Google / Yahoo aren’t going to pay your fees.)
- Look at your site as something that needs care & attention. It needs food to grow, and that food is new information & content.
With this new perspective, lets show you 5 Quick ways to add new food, care & attention (content) to your site:
1. Calendar of upcoming Events: If you are putting on any seminars, or ATTENDING any seminars, put it on your site. It shows that you are active locally, and are striving to be a leader in your field. Even if you are not planning on going to the CAALA show in Las Vegas, put it on your Calendar page to let others you are aware of it. Plus by adding it, changes your site & we all know Google loves constantly changing websites. You might even want to consider allowing others & visitors to add comments to the calendar, again for change.
2. Put Maps & Directions to important places on your site: Don’t forget to put a map to your office, but also put a map of the local courthouse as well. How about all the courthouses in the Los Angeles area? Or if you are a Los Angeles Personal Injury Attorney, put all the courthouses you may deal with. You are putting valuable information on your website, and helping others without taking up any of your time.
3. Client Experiences: Not just a Testimonial Page, because Testimonials are their own words. This is in your voice. Give a quick outline of what it was like for them before meeting you, and the problems they faced. Once they met you & how your quick action helped them, how did it enhance and improve their lives? This is also a very enjoyable experience for you, as you recall your successes in law.
4. Now it is time for Testimonials: Use this positive energy to reach out to past clients for them to say something about you. It is now fresh in your mind what happened, you can even coach them a bit to refresh their memory. But people want to be reassured that you have the skill & qualifications to handle their case. Testimonials from other past clients help prove that to potential clients.
5. Client Intake Forms: Now I’m not saying that you need to direct your clients to download your form, fill it out before arriving to your office, and give it to you before your meeting. We all know that is a dream we would love to be living, but in reality that hardly ever happens. Plus we want contact and interaction from our clients, and a form to some may feel a little antiseptic. What I’m saying here is by putting those forms on your site, then you are giving them a chance to fill it out first if they choose. Plus that will give you a decent gauge of how serious they are before they even sit down. And finally, it is adding content to your site, something we know Google loves.
Look for another 5 later this week. I’m trying a new blogging strategy, where I am posting a few times a week!
Let me know your thoughts & comments as well!
